happy weekend!

i had the loveliest week here in blog-land. thanks to you all. i'm off to work now but have much of the weekend off. i intend to clean (some sprucing up of my new corner of this castle in the sky is in order), celebrate easter with friends, bake up a storm (shhh, don't tell but the gift for my randomly chosen follower {rebecca, who was informed on tuesday (see, mom?)} will be a rock-hard-solid-loaf-of-soon-to-be-famous banana bread), and then venture out on a little twitter-inspired photo expedition.

i hope you all have a lovely weekend. whether you're celebrating a holiday, just recovering from one, or going about the day-to-day enjoy the earth's renewal in whatever way you choose!

the violet online!

i can't believe what i'm about to share with you all this morning.
last fall camilla told me she was going to launch an online magazine.
and by golly girls, she's done it.

and yes, there are other online publications out there. but this one is done by women our age--bloggers who want to change the world.

i was floored when i saw the issue. absolutely speechless.

i can only hope camilla will allow me to contribute the next go round. because baby, i'm in.

(i mean who wouldn't like a magazine who's we believe section declares, "that you don't have to be a rockefeller to be a rockstar.")

so without further ado: the violet

dreaming of...

it's grey and wet here in new york. and cold.
i can hardly fathom how long this winter has gone on.
i have yet to take my inaugural spring walk through central park. yet to enjoy an afternoon sitting on the benches in fort tryon. yet to consume my first sidewalk meal of the season (and much as i don't care for the city sometimes, eating outside as the crowds careen by is one of the great joys of my life).

but i believe--i have to believe--that spring is near. that time of year when i can subsist on nothing but iced lattes--when the feel of an ice cream cone in my hand against a breeze that promises summer is the highlight of the fading day.

so the promise--or hope--of spring has me thinking of clean lines, lace curtains, white, bay windows, stripes, and...breakfast foods (as it turns out).
